Langley School prides itself on the range and diversity of its extracurricular and co-curricular education, which is instrumental in extending learning beyond the curriculum, increasing engagement and interest, and challenging pupils to try something new. Whether this be debating or public speaking, involvement in one of our performances, or working towards the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, pupils need, at times, to be taken out of their comfort zone. This is a critical element of our Growth Mindset philosophy. We want to give pupils the opportunity to find out what they may be good at and develop this.
One of Langley School’s CORE values is opportunity. There is so much going on each term, including a vast array of trips, visiting speakers, performances and events, that every pupil has the opportunity to get involved in something new and exciting. Our Langley News publication gives a flavour of what has been happening recently at Langley.
The After School Activities Programme
On top of all this is our activities programme, an instrumental part of our extracurricular enrichment, which runs in the final slot of each day (Monday to Thursday). Each term we produce a fresh programme with a few new, several seasonal and other more regular activities. Below is a list of the type of activities that can be expected over the course of an academic year at Langley. Please click on the activity booklets below to see more detail of what is on offer this term. If you cannot see what you are looking for – then why not start your own new activity? We are always open to your ideas and pupil involvement!
