Kayak Academy Placed in International ICF K4 Marathon Race

Three Langley Kayak Academy athletes travelled to Amsterdam for the international ICF K4 14 kilometres marathon, Timothy Dowden, James How and Toby Booth. The boys were joined in Holland by another junior athlete from Norwich Canoe Club, Ben Want.

The Langley K4 crew finished 4th in a borrowed boat in the Under 18 class, against a world class field, despite having an average age of just 16. This 800 mile trip was not only an adventure to remember, but taught the athletes about being adaptable to any situation and making the best of their environment, which will help them in the future careers as international athletes.
