Our boarding staffing levels are generous, with 3 Houseparents and 7 resident teachers on site. In addition to supervising the students, resident staff also organise a range of activities including cultural and recreational events and visits at weekends and in the evenings. Our dedicated Houseparents are at the Hub of boarding. From ‘wake-up until ‘lights out’, they are there to assist in any way necessary.
As parents themselves, they are very aware of the many obstacles and challenges that teenagers face today. Whether it is a paternal talk, shoulder to cry on or help hunting for that lost essential piece of kit; they can be relied upon to provide continuous support and care throughout the academic year.
We also have two qualified nursing staff available to all students, who along with the Houseparents, provide 24-hour care, seven days a week.
Older students can demonstrate their responsibility by assisting in the running of the house and boarders have their own student representatives to promote their views and concerns. We offer all boarding students access to Independent Listeners, as approved by the regulatory bodies.
