Year 3 enjoyed our annual trip to Norwich Castle, to engage in the long standing debate: should Egyptian tombs be preserved or explored?
The children were treated to a ‘day in the life of an Egyptian’ washing clothes in the Nile, milking goats and harvesting the wheat. A prosession followed with our pupils all dressed in traditional linen dress. The children crafted their own jewellery collars, choosing colours to represent key Egyptian icons such as the River Nile, pyramids and beautiful gemstones. After a lunchtime pit stop, we explored the mummification process and many original treasures extracted from the tombs.
As always, the Castle staff were wonderful and treated us to an informative, engaging and fun day.
