As part of their Humanities topic; ‘The Romans’, Year 4 were lucky enough to have a visit from ‘Hands on the Past’, in the form of a Roman soldier and a Celtic lady. The workshop included demonstrations of what a Roman soldier and a Celtic warrior would wear and how they would fight in battle. We also spent time looking at the various Celtic tribes that occupied Britannia, and how the Celts and Romans lived compared to life today. The children showed great curiosity throughout, asking a range of thought-provoking questions. The workshop was most engaging and it has provided the children with lots of important knowledge to assist with their learning in their Humanities lessons moving forward.
