Year 1 had a wonderful day at Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens.

The weather didn’t dampen the children’s excitement and enthusiasm for their first Year 1 trip of the year. They enjoyed sharing their knowledge of the animals and explaining which group the animals belonged in. We saw many different reptiles, birds and monkeys but the big cats were a big hit. The tigers and leopards were very close to the fence of their enclosures during the visit and it was wonderful to see these magnificent creatures so close up. A member of the public informed Apple class that the leopards were a family with three female cubs.

Harriet C said “The cubs were so cute!”

Arthur T said “The tiger was my favourite it was enormous!”

Charlotte B said “I like going through the tiger tunnel to see them.”

Scarlett B said “The leopards were my favourite! They were so beautiful!”

The noisy gibbons gave everyone a headache but they were so much fun to watch. Stanley said “They can swing really fast!”

The teachers were very proud when a member of staff from the café commented on the beautiful behaviour of our Year 1 children. Well done Year 1 for a lovely first trip.

We are looking forward to our next trip to Gorleston pantomime. Oh yes we are!

A big thank you to Mrs Stephenson for joining us on our trip.
