Our brilliant Year 6 pupils fully embraced their recent ‘Build to the line: design and construction challenge’ in a show of superb teamwork.

As part of STEM Learning (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) we encourage our youngsters to apply themselves to challenges and activities, and on this occasion the task was cardboard engineering and the objective was to build a bridge.

Every team had to follow a set of rules when making their cardboard bridge, including height and length restrictions. Working together, the pupils discussed ideas, planned their construction and made improvements.

At the end, all the bridges were measured and their weight-bearing tested, with an excited crowd looking on! Well done to every team, especially the three that passed the competition with flying colours.
