Our Year 8s visited the Black Swan Care Home at Chiswick House and Harford Manor again to show the pupils and residents their ideas for the DT collaborative Community Outreach Project. It was interesting to hear the opinions of everyone, especially the thoughts from the pupils of Harford Manor, who welcomed our Year 8 pupils into their classroom to help make Drink Bottle Penguins and wooden Christmas decorations to hang from a tree.
Our ideas were gratefully received and discussed with particular enthusiasm from Trudy and Alfie-Jack especially! Elliotts’ computer game was particularly well received as was Ryan’s rocking ball bearing game idea. Year 8s now have some feedback to take back to the workshop to enable the personalised manufacturing process to get underway.. a good time had by all!
Thanks go to White Class at Harford Manor for their hospitality- we look forward to seeing them again in the new year here at the Prep School.
