Langley Preparatory School at Taverham Hall are thrilled to be the first school in the county to have secured the FSA Recognised Forest School Provider award from the Forest School Association (FSA). The FSA is the professional body and UK wide voice for all things Forest School, promoting best practice, cohesion and ‘quality Forest School for All’.

FSA commented: “We are delighted to celebrate our first recognised Forest School Provider in Norfolk! Congratulations to Langley Preparatory School at Taverham Hall.”

Mike Crossley, Headmaster, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Langley Preparatory School at Taverham Hall has received approval as the first FSA Recognised Forest School provider in Norfolk. Outdoor learning has always been such an integral part of pupils’ lives here on our idyllic 100 acre woodland site since 1921 and this has been significantly enhanced by the integration of Forest School within our curriculum over the past 10 years. The FSA’s official award is testament to all the excellent work our five dedicated Level 3 Forest School leaders undertake with all our pupils.”

Originating from outdoor learning in Scandinavia, Forest School is a specialised learning approach based in a woodland or natural environment with trees. It offers all participants regular opportunities to develop self-confidence and esteem and work collaboratively through hands-on learning experiences.
