Hobbies & Clubs
‘The provision of extra-curricular activities is excellent. The wide variety of activities extends the strong sporting, artistic, musical and dramatic areas of the curriculum.’ ISI
At Langley Preparatory School at Taverham Hall, we offer children plenty of opportunity to develop interests and talents outside the classroom. Our extensive grounds provide the perfect space for many hobbies and clubs, which run at the end of the school day. This adds to the flexibility of our evening, for late pick up, but also greatly adds to our wider curriculum.
Traditional games of cricket, rugby, netball, hockey, athletics, tennis and swimming are included as part of the P.E. and games programme.
Keen anglers will enjoy the School’s fishing rights on the River Wensum, which runs through our grounds as well as school membership of local fishing lakes. From Year 3 onwards children can take up canoeing on the river as a hobby during the summer term. For those interested in bird-watching, the grounds also offer excellent cover. Some children enjoy helping out with the pupils’ garden areas, learning about management and preservation. Others prefer den making and or simply having fun on the playground equipment.
Further afield, the school offers international tours, educational excursions and strong links with the local community which all foster an appreciation of the world around us.
