U13A v Beeston Hall Score: 6-1
The first team travelled to play Beeston in their opening fixture of the season. The game started very evenly, with each side having chances, but both goalkeepers were in good form. Making his debut in goal, Danny produced a number of good saves as the game went on. Luca and Louis defended well and were keeping Beeston at bay, whilst LPS@TH was looking very dangerous in possession, with Arthur, Elliott and Nathan linking well in midfield. Finally a good chance fell to Isaac in the D and he scored the opening goal, but Beeston equalised just before half time.
After talking about how we could change the game at half time, LPS@TH came out and pressed much higher in the second half. This created a large number of opportunities which Isaac and Nathan both scored from. Elliott then got on the score sheet twice, both from excellent passes from a short corner by Arthur. Elliott completed the scoring by finishing a reverse-stick shot into the top corner.
This was a very impressive second-half performance where we won the half 5-0. Every credit to the boys for carrying out the half-time instructions to the letter.
Team: Danny W, Louis M, Luca P, Nathan M, Elliott H, Arthur C, Isaac B
U13B v Beeston Hall Score 0-2
As with the A team, it was a very even start, with both sides struggling to gain the upper-hand. Tom and Danny were working well and they found Joel who crossed for James who just missed the target. Joel was then very unlucky when their goalkeeper produced an excellent save after a fine pass from Tom. Campbell and Alfie were tight in defence and Danny was again impressive in goal, but after three fine saves in a row, the ball fell to the Beeston forward who scored from close range, giving Beeston a 1-0 lead at the break.
In the second half we didn’t really get any breaks in the opposition D and it was Beeston who scored another well-worked goal, winning the game 2-0.
The boys should take every credit from the game, but must now look to improve their ball speed to try and create a few more chances next game.

U13C v Beeston Hall Score: 4-1
The boys started strongly yet found themselves 1-0 down half way through the first half, with a Beeston goal coming against the run of play. Despite this the boys continued to dominate possession, and this was eventually rewarded with a flurry of goals from Elliot S x 2, Charl and Harry, with the game finishing 4-1. The boys all played very well, showing good teamwork and effort, with Charlie also making some important saves. Well done.
Team: Charlie B, Joseph G, Austin K, William B, Harry H, Elliot S, Ryan W, Charl M
U13D v Beeston Hall Score 6-0
A positive start for the boys who put together some creative attacks against a disorganised Beeston defence. This soon provided reward with 5 goals in the first half, scored by Tafadzwa x 2, and Charlie x 3. The attacks continued in the second half, and but for an outstanding performance from the Beeston GK, we could have added even more goals in the second half. It wasn’t until the final minutes of the game that Harry SC added the sixth and final goal of the game. The boys played very well as a team and should be pleased with their efforts.
Team: Charlie B, Brady M, Tafadzwa S, Ben S, Myles M, Charlie H, Harry S-C, Harrison S
U11A v Beeston Hall Score: 6-1
This was a great way to start the season, but far from a complete performance. Given that this was the first game of the year and with a number of new faces in the team, the boys should be pleased with how well they moved the ball around the back and out to the wings, but they also need to understand the importance of ball speed and working harder off the ball when they are not in possession. A good start, boys – well done.
Goals: James M x 4 and Archie C x 2
Team: Lennon T, Oliver B, Bertie C, James M, James A, JC M, Archie C and Arthur C
U11B v Beeston Hall Score: 6-0
The U11Bs made a great start to the new season with a 6-0 home victory over Beeston on a wet and cold afternoon. The opening 10 minutes were cagey as both teams started nervously and tried to find their feet in the game. However LPS@TH broke the deadlock through an excellent strike from Oscar. Reilly looked very threatening from short corners and nearly made it 2-0, before Ethan secured a goal for LPS@TH just before half time.
In the second half, LPS@TH really stepped on the gas and created several chances with Sebastian, Harry and Arthur forming many opportunities in the wide areas. Ethan then grabbed his second goal to make it 3-0, before JC scored a quickfire hat-trick to make it 6-0.
With six goals and a good all-round performance, the U11B team look set for another good season.

U11C v Beeston Hall Score: 7-0
It was clear from the outset that we were the stronger side as we raced into a 2-0 lead early on. We changed around positions to try to make the match as even as possible. The boys played really well, and it was good to see them playing the Hockey we had worked on; playing the ball wide and scoring from crosses.
In the end, we ran out 7-0 winners with a goal for Marcus W and three each for Harry T and Henry S. It was an excellent team performance from the boys. Well done.
