U9B v Town Close  Score: 2-1
The U9Bs finished the season with a tough home fixture against Town Close. The boys started slowly and found themselves 1-0 down early on and can thank the post for stopping Town Close making it 2-0. Ethan, Rayyan and Harry (in goal) did some great defensive work to keep the score to 1-0 until half time.
Into the second half and a determined run from Thomas set up George for the equaliser with just 23 seconds on the clock. LPS@TH then played some lovely hockey with Jack, Sam and Archie using great pace and skill in the wide areas. Lewis had an excellent game in centre midfield and set up George for another excellent finish. LPS@TH didn’t have it all their own way but some strong defending meant we finished the season with a win.

U9A vs Town Close Score: 0-5
LPS@TH started well with Reuben making some good runs in the middle of the pitch and linking up with forward Brett, but soon Town Close took the ball and passed it well to score their first goal. Excellent tackling by Raffy and Finley at the back, as well as good saves by keeper Oliver, denied Town Close further goals. However, despite these efforts, Town Close scored another couple of goals.
Thomas and Theo worked hard in the second half which led to a couple of chances for LPS@TH, but unfortunately the ball didn’t fall right in the D to get a clean shot. Henry performed well for his debut in the A team and worked hard throughout.
Despite a stronger half, Town Close won the match 5-0. A difficult match, but one where lots of experience was gained once again.

U9C v Town Close  Score: 0-0
This was a very even affair, but chances in front of goal were at premium. Both sides pressed well in the middle of the pitch, where Jasper and Adam had great games and cancelled each other out. Both sides defended well and the two chances that both sides created all went narrowly wide and Thomas hit the post in the last minute. It has been so pleasing to see just how far the boys have progressed with their stick skills this term and a 0-0 draw was a fitting way for this match to end.

U9D v Town Close   Score: 1-1
It was a strong start with Ralph and the man of the match Louis playing well in midfield to pass the ball through to an unmarked Matthew who scored with a fine shot from the top of the D. Oliver made some fine saves in goal with Theo and Sam defending resolutely. Zain played well, holding the ball upfront, before Town Close scored just before the end to equalise. The game then ebbed and flowed for the remaining time but neither side could score so it remained 1-1. It was so pleasing to see the boys play with a real smile on their faces and see just how much they have improved since the start of term

U11A v Gresham’s Score: 0-1
The U11As had their final set fixture of the term as they travelled to face Gresham’s. The boys started slow and found themselves 1-0 down early on. The boys however soon turned things around with James M having a good game in centre midfield. The boys created several chances all game but just couldn’t find an equalizing goal which their performance deserved. Special mention to Ethan who had a great game on full debut.

Team: Lennon T, James M (Capt), James A, JC M, Bertie C, Ethan C, Archie C

U11B v Gresham’s Score: 0-0
In their final fixture of the season, the U11Bs travelled to face a strong Gresham’s side. The team started very slowly in the first half and found themselves lucky not to be a goal down at half time. However LPS@TH put on a good performance in the second half with Harry having a great game in the wide areas as well as Oscar and Reilly looking creative down the middle. Despite creating several chances, the boys couldn’t quite convert and settled the season with a 0-0 draw.

Team: Oliver D, Ethan C, Reilly B, Sebastian L, Oscar M, Harry S, Sam G, Marcus W

U11C v Gresham’s    Score: 1-1
The boys put in a great performance for their final match of the season. They fell behind early on to a fine finish, but went from strength to strength from there. Archie made some strong saves, Toby and Shai were great at the back, and Marcus and Tashinga played well on the wings, with Arthur dominating the middle of the pitch. Harry scored a fine goal in the second half. They could have scored more, but for an inspired performance from the Gresham’s ‘keeper.
The game ended 1-1 in what was a really good match. Everyone played well, but the player of the match was Shai who captained the team really well. Well done.

Team: Archie R, Shai M (Captain), Toby C, Marcus W, Tashinga M, Harry T, Arthur C

U11D v Gresham’s U9A    Score: 1-1
An even match played at a fast pace. We opened the scoring after a lovely pass from Daniel to Aiden, who crossed the ball to Joshua for a tidy 1st time finish in the corner. Gresham’s struck back immediately after some tidy interplay. Plenty of chances followed but neither team was able to find the back of the goal.

Team: Zain B, Aiden F, Charlie D, Rahin S, Daniel F, Joshua B, Lennon T

U11E v Gresham’s    Score: 1-0
This was a thoroughly enjoyable game. The boys dominated the game from start to finish, with Ethan scoring the winner in the second half. Miles and Griffin were great at the back, with Ethan, Cameron, Jack, Jarred and Thomas driving forward and attacking. It was a good 1-0 win with Cameron named player of the match.

U11F v Gresham’s U9B   Score: 0-1
A tight affair. Gresham’s took the lead in the 1st half and unfortunately we could never break their defence. Jacob had a chance near the end but their goalie was equal to it. Despite that there were strong performances from Thomas and Cameron.

U13A v Gresham’s   Score: 0-3
An absolute thriller of a game against Gresham’s, with both sides intent on playing attacking, free-flowing hockey. Both goalkeepers were in fine form, especially the diving save that Danny made when the ball was travelling in the top corner. Despite the end to end hockey the game was goalless at half time. Both sides carried on playing in the same vein in the second half, with both creating chances thwarted by great keeping. Four minutes from the end Gresham’s finally found a way through and our heads dropped a little allowing them to score two further goals. This was a very hard result for the boys to take as they had played their best hockey of the season and were in the game for so long, but they now know that they can compete with the best schools around. We move on to play at the Gresham’s Hockey Festival at the weekend where we generally play our best hockey of the season.

U13B v Gresham’s  Score: 2-2
This was a highly competitive game against Gresham’s with a fantastic goal, when Ryan hit the ball into the roof of the net. Gresham’s then came back into the game and scored just before half time. Gresham’s scored early in the second half and the team had to be tenacious and really dig in. They played well in adversity and, with 20 seconds to go, a long through ball found Ryan who then lashed in the equaliser to great cheers from the sidelines and one that their work-rate warranted. This was a fantastic end to their season. Well done all involved.

U13C v Gresham’s  Score: 3-1
In an evenly matched game, the first 10 minutes were reasonably quiet, until Gresham’s took the lead through a well-worked goal. We managed to equalise from a short corner, finished well by Charl to leave the score 1-1 at half time. After the break the boys really started to play some attractive hockey and were rewarded with two more well-worked goals, one from Harry and one from Charlie, to seal a well deserved 3-1 victory after a strong team performance.

Team: Charlie B, Charlie H, Austin K, Harry H, Elliott S, Charl M, Hugo G, Myles M

U13D v Gresham’s  Score: 2-1
Up against a well-matched Gresham’s side, the boys started slowly and quickly found themselves 2-0 down from two flowing Gresham’s moves. At half-time the boys were able to regroup and responded well in the second half. Early second half pressure resulted in a well-worked goal finished off by Freddie at the far post, to leave the score 2-1 with 10 minutes to play. The boys continued to move the ball well, and managed to score a well-deserved equaliser though a Harry goal. The game finished 2-2 – a fair result – and the boys showed great teamwork and resilience having been 2-0 at half time. Well done.

Team: Charlie B, Brady M, Tafadzwa S, William N, Myles M, Freddie M, Harry S-C, Alex S.

U13E v Gresham’s  Score: 2-2
In an exciting and end-to-end game, Gresham’s took an early 2-0 lead. Gresham’s continued to apply pressure, however outstanding and resilient defending from Ben and Charlie kept the score at 2-0 at half time. After regrouping and reflecting at half-time, the boys came out strongly in the second half. Their pressure was rewarded with a goal from Thomas, who was a constant threat throughout the second half, to leave the score 2-1. The game continued to be end to end, but it was LPS@TH who managed to score the all-important fourth goal, a neat finish from a tight angle from Oliver. Finishing 2-2, this was an excellent game to watch – full of excitement. The boys should be proud of their efforts.

U13F v Gresham’s  Score: 1-2
The boys were really looking forward to taking on their Gresham’s counterparts for the second time this term, both sides passed the ball well and were tenacious in their tackling. After much good play from Ben in Midfield, who linked well with Alexander, the ball fell to Radley who swept the ball home for the first goal of the game. Gresham’s then managed to gain an equaliser from a short corner strike that was unfortunately deflected past Danny in goal. Both sides then had chances to move ahead and Danny made some more saves before Gresham’s finally scored the winner just before the end of the game. It is so pleasing to see just how far all these boys have progressed with their skills over the course for the term and just how much they have enjoyed their hockey.
