PSB – Prep School Baccalaureate
A Prep School Baccalaureate School offers an education that equips pupils to be successful in the fast-moving world of the 21st century.
The PSB is an academic framework centred on the development of life-long skills into which schools insert their own bespoke programmes of study which are based on the National Curriculum, strands of the Common Entrance, but importantly tailored to the needs of the pupils.
At Langley Preparatory School at Taverham Hall we focus on the development of the following six core skills in line with the School’s Growth Mindset concept and the School’s Independent Learner model: collaboration, independence, leadership, communication, thinking & learning, reviewing & improving. Closely tied in with the PSB is the School’s bespoke Wensum Award programme which offers increased opportunities to be challenged, to experience the new and to showcase strengths.
Two exciting components of the PSB are the Year 7 Leadership Days and the extended project which takes place in Year 8. By the end of their final year, the School will be providing the Year 8 pupils with a very comprehensive and detailed analysis of all their skills in a PSB ‘Skills Passport’ and this plus a summary of their academic achievements will ensure a smooth transition into Senior School.
The PSB has been extremely well received by so many of the senior schools both regionally and nationally and an endorsement of the PSB in this respect can be found in the leaflet below (click to open):
