There was great excitement in the two Reception classes when cracks started appearing in our incubating eggs.
The children have been crossing off the days and as we neared the twenty first day, joy started to mount.
On Tuesday the first crack appeared and the children could hear cheeping coming from inside the egg. As the eggs have cracked the children have been able to watch the chicks emerging from their shells, this is an amazing sight and left them quite in awe.
We now have eight chicks which are now in a pen under a heat lamp. The children love watching them and finally being able to hold a chick. The chicks were all given names and the children completed a piece of writing about their chick.
The chicks will return to the Rutterford’s farm Friday and we hope to visit them soon.
Our thanks go to Mr and Mrs Rutterford for providing us with the eggs.
