To commemorate the centenary of women gaining the right to vote, our English department launched a new creative writing magazine called Suffragette Stories. To celebrate the launch of the magazine, Langley School welcomed parents, pupils and staff to a special evening of creative writing and artwork at the school. Each of the stories represented a tree a Suffragette planted in Somerset in 1910-11. The audience listened to Year 9 girls read extracts from their historical fiction stories. After the readings, our Year 13 student, Jacob Ocal, played the piano, while the audience viewed the artwork on display and enjoyed some delicious refreshments.
