Daily life at Langley is as exciting and dynamic as the lessons and co-curricular activities that we have on offer. Pupils are divided according to year-group. Within that year-group, each pupil is assigned a dedicated tutor, who will be the principle liaison between the pupils, teachers and parents. All our tutors provide all round care for their tutees, looking after their wellbeing and taking an overview in their academic progress. That is why these tutorial sessions are seen as a vital part of daily routine.
Life at Langley focuses on a holistic education. Academic lessons are at the core, but every pupil will be involved in extra-curricular activities at the end of every day. This programme adds diversity and enrichment to a pupil’s daily routine, allowing them to participate in activities that are important to them.

On arrival at the school, each pupil is assigned to one of four historic Houses here at Langley. These are Beauchamp, Crome, Mancroft and St Giles. Each House is led by a Head of House who will also play an important part in the life of a pupil. Weekly House assemblies are held to reinforce pastoral messages as well as helping to build up a sense of belonging to the House, fostering an environment where each pupil is cared for and respected. Competitions are held throughout the year in all major sports as well as in Music and Activities, giving pupils with differing strengths the opportunity to play a major role in earning points for their House.
The Catering team at Langley School are committed to providing food that is wholesome, varied, colourful and nutritious. We freshly prepare daily from whole foods and all our dishes are homemade. We use local suppliers and only use British Meat. We have reduced sugar by 50% in all our homemade desserts and have further reduced sugar throughout the menu by reformulating traditional recipes.
The pupils have unlimited access to a variety of fresh fruit and help themselves to the selection of seasonal vegetables on offer.
We encourage the pupils to become involved and try new dishes through hosting special pupil led theme days.
“In my professional opinion and experience of working with schools and families, Langley School provides one of the highest quality school menus in the region, in terms of taste, quality of ingredients and nutrient content.” Catherine Jeans, The Family Nutrition Expert
Combined Cadet Force
The broad function of the Combined Cadet Force is to provide a disciplined organisation within a school so that boys and girls may develop powers of leadership by means of training to promote qualities of responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness, endurance, and perseverance and a sense of service to the community. It is firmly believed that the self-confidence and self-discipline in service life are equally important in civil life of the nation today.
