Langley Parents and Teachers Association donates money raised from events to good causes close to the hearts of our children and community.
- Develop effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school
- Arrange events that raise funds for equipment and projects to enhance the education of the pupils
- Organise events for the enjoyment of pupils, their families and the wider community.
Role of LPTA
The LPTA is an integral part of the school, it has raised tens of thousands of pounds, which has been spent on improving facilities and to enhance pupil’s learning. The LPTA provides closer links between home and school bringing staff, parents and the whole community together. All parents become members of the association when their child joins the school.
Role of the Committee
It consists of six officers: Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Vice Treasurer, Secretary and School Liaison.

The Committee meet on a regular basis once or twice a term outside working hours.
You do not have to be a committee member to come and we welcome all guests at the LPTA meetings.
Smaller working groups meet as necessary to organise our bigger events.
How we raise money
A variety of events are staged throughout the year which raise money for the LPTA funds and just as importantly enable pupils, parents, and teachers to have some fun together. The activities include something for parents, family members and children. They generally include at least one event per term. We also support school organised events such as the annual cabaret show, rugby tournament and other events by request. All the events rely on the generous support of parents/families and everyone is most welcome to participate in whichever way they prefer and fits in. Distribution of funds
A bid system allows anyone within the school to submit a request for funds to support their department, club or group within school.
Bids are invited once a term and decisions are taken at LPTA Committee meetings.
The LPTA funds are for ‘extras’ not provided for by the school budget, that make our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting.
The School Liaison Officer ensures everyone is aware of the “bid system” submission dates.
The Vice Chair and School Liaison gather all requests and bring these the committee for approval.
We endeavour to distribute funds which will benefit pupils across all areas of the school and curriculum. By having three “bids” per year this ensures that we allocate funds in a timely manner and that way, you can be sure that in supporting our school, everyone will feel the benefit. Of course, there are times when we may have larger projects in the pipeline that we need to set aside money for but this will be communicated.
