Universities and Careers
Langley is a non-selective Sixth Form that consistently sends students to some of the best universities (at home and abroad). Students are provided with advice by an Oxbridge/Russell Group coordinator, guided by their form tutors in subject and university selection and given ideas for direction by the Heads of Sixth Form.
University visits, provision of up-to-date courses and their availability (by UniFrog) and expert speakers are just a part of the toolkit deployed to ensure our students select the right university, for them.
Added to this, we assist students in the planning of their Gap Years, development of their CVs and also guidance towards careers and apprenticeships; a process that begins at entry to Langley School and receives more focussed support in Sixth Form.
Students are given excellent guidance throughout the process of application and 87.9% of students in 2017 went to their first choice university (including Medical School, Veterinary College, Cambridge, Durham and other Russell Group universities)
35% of students going to university in 2017 went on to Russell Group Universities. This does not take into account those that chose to go to Loughborough (for elite sport), Drama Schools and Conservatoires, all top institutions in their own right.
