At Langley, we are proud to provide our students with the very best in sporting opportunities by partnering with national, regional and county sports clubs and organisations. Learn more about our sporting partnerships below.
Norwich City Football Club
We’re proud to be the the exclusive education partner to Norwich City Football Club. Working together, we combine top quality coaching and development with the best possible academic education, for 24 pupils aged 13-16, and all scholars ages 16-18. To accommodate the additional training and playing demands, extra individual and small group classes are scheduled to enable students to follow a comprehensive curriculum. All Langley pupils have the opportunity to play at the 27,000 capacity Carrow Rd stadium each May. Norwich City coaches support our in-house team of coaches with regular master classes and summer camps. A number of former pupils have now progressed on to full professional contracts.
Leicester Tigers Rugby Academy
We’re thrilled to be working alongside the Leicester Tigers Rugby Club Academy. Leicester Tigers are the most successful English club since the introduction of league rugby in 1987. Lanley School is part of their ‘Good to Great Programme. With a strong focus on strength and conditioning, Leicester Tigers provide development across all areas of performance. 26 Langley pupils take part in their Player Development Group, with a further 5 being full members of the U18 Academy playing in the U18 Premiership. Academy coaches Tosh Askew, Brett Deacon, Anthony Allen and academy manager Dave Wilks visit the school regularly and coach rugby across all age groups. Langley also host various camps and masterclasses across the year.
Harleston Magpies Hockey Club
Harleston Magpies Hockey Club is one of the premier hockey clubs in East Anglia, with its Ladies’ 1st XI playing in Conference East of the England National League and the Men’s 1st competing in Premier A of the East League. It’s youth development programme is nationally recognised. Langley’s full time Head of Hockey, Stuart Field, and a number of other teachers are players and coaches at the club. Many Langley pupils also play their club hockey with the adult teams at Harleston. The partnership enables facilities to be shared, providing additional capacity for school fixtures and a base at school for indoor training.
