At Langley Prep School, we provide a nurturing and inspiring educational journey from Year 3 to Year 8. Our small class sizes ensure every pupil receives personalised attention, enabling targeted learning, regular progress monitoring, and daily opportunities to stretch and grow.
Our broad and dynamic curriculum encourages critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity. Pupils take part in academic competitions such as the Junior Maths Challenge, alongside subject-specific masterclasses and lecture series designed to broaden horizons and inspire ambition. Each child is also equipped with a one-to-one Microsoft device to support independent learning and digital fluency.
Langley offers an exceptional breadth of opportunities outside traditional lessons. Pupils enjoy a wide variety of co-curricular clubs, including chess, animation, cooking, coding, Hama Beads, and puzzle-solving – all designed to develop life skills and personal interests.
They also benefit from extensive sports provision, including a heated indoor pool, multi-use games area (MUGA), sports hall, and acres of fields for cricket, rugby, hockey, netball, athletics, and cross-country.
Our setting allows for experiences rarely found at other prep schools. Pupils can fish in our private stretch of river, explore our woodland through our Outdoor Learning programme, and participate in drama productions, musical soirees, and house singing competitions.
Older pupils mentor younger ones, helping to build a family-like atmosphere where confidence, empathy, and leadership are nurtured from the earliest years.
Langley’s Wensum Award – our holistic development programme inspired by the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – helps children build life skills, emotional awareness, and cultural understanding.
This sits alongside a strong wellbeing framework that includes:
At Langley, we embed a Growth Mindset culture, encouraging resilience, curiosity, and self-belief. Pupils are supported by expert subject specialists and dedicated Form Tutors who guide them through both academic and personal development.
Whether a child is exploring their passions, building confidence, or developing leadership skills, Langley provides the strong foundations they need to thrive in the next stage of their education – and beyond.
“Leaders successfully promote the school’s aims. These are clearly understood by pupils and applied in their daily interactions. As a result, pupils are kind and respectful, trusting that their voices are listened to”
